Why dont you try 7-zip,it is freeware, you dont have trial periods or nag screens to worry about & it is superior in my opinion to winzip.
Many here use 7-zip.

Can anyone tell me if Win98 and ME versions of winzip will work in Winxp. A friend has xp, but I don't and his trial version of winzip has expired. So can he use a previous version that works in Win98 & Me?
Will they work in NTFS file system?
thanks in advance

*agrees with Goslow*
I remember I used 7zip in windows 98/2000 and by this day it still should work fine in that OS.
There is also a portable version that doesn't require installation (just a flash drive)
Download: (has both versions - portable and installer)
Download 7 Zip Portable | 7 Zip for USB/Flash Drive

Hmm even though virustotal doesn't find anything suspicious in the downloads available from that site you linked, it still looks suspicious to me.
One reason for this being the softpedia logo without link back to the softpedia page which would attest of the reward they claim. Also, even though there are links to unofficial packages on the original 7-zip's download page, there is no mention of that one.
