There are many free ones available on the net if you do a google search. I use Jetaudio, which also has the facility to convert video files. It is not free, but if you search for FOSI you can find it.
I want to convert my music from wav to mp3, what converter you may recommend?

A tip from forum member Tomb if you want to use versions after the last freeware version.
"I am sure there will be more requests for this as dbpoweramp music converter is now shareware if you want to use the internal lame mp3 encoder (it expires after 30 days).
However if you use the generic CLI codec (see codec central) you should still be able to use the lame.exe after the 30 day period has expired."
.
Goslow's mention of Lame reminded me you can get get Audacity for free, which also enables you to record music etc.
Thank you guys, just tried all of them...

I didn;t know what Constance meant, when speaking of lossy formats. I was going to suggest that if MP3s are being played in a club or similar environment, the loss of audio quality would hardly be noticed.
However, I did a google search and found this site, which gives a good explanation about lossy, the quality of sounds.
Lossless and lossy audio formats for music.
