Howdy Ya'll new to this Internet Explorer hummmm

New to this, got comp, was to have been all set and wasnt, has windows 98 w/ Microsoft Internet Explorer 4... well cant run anything for chatting and cant seem to figure out what I need to do... put a new modem in and that was a peice of cake, can anyone tell me what I might need to do.. downloaded icq and yahoo and cant get them to work, keep getting message from Internet Expl. saying script error yes or no to keep running, do I need to box it up and take it into some comp shop ? Sorry for all the questions, thank goodness for Old Versions being here !!!!!

Download internet explorer 6 from windows update site, That should help fix some of your current problems
