At very old PC's I prefer Windows NT 4, because NT (XP, Vista, Windows 7 are NT family too) is more secure than 9x (Win 98 and Win Me).
You could run programs with restricted rights ("runas" with any non-admin account) and make access control lists to files at NT systems, so even if you will run bad software, it will not hurt you much.

you could download a registry cleaner or registry optimizer like Ccleaner, Ashampoo, and so on

Hello everyone,

I have had a problem for awhile (Im also on 98se) and if I bootup in safe mode,the problem isnt there!!

The problem Ill show you here.......



See how the menu doesnt fit the dialog box..... Its too wide.... And some of the icons dont show.....

If I bootup in safe mode,all the problems are gone....... How do I find the problem???
